Dear friends,
We’re thrilled to invite you to be part of something very special this autumn on the island of Skiathos — our ESC volunteering project Joyce Builders Circle is officially happening!
This 2-month experience is for you if you want to:
get hands-on with natural building — preparing the space, crafting compost toilets, building showers, and more,
live simply and joyfully in an off-grid eco-hub surrounded by nature,
help host and participate in a beautiful 2-week Natural Building Workshop,
support a team of dreamers, doers, and creators from all over Europe,
grow new skills, make new friends, and leave your mark on a community-led project rooted in care, creativity, and sustainability.
If you’re between 18 and 30 and up for two months of learning, building, and meaningful fun — we can’t wait to welcome you!
What ?
2-month European Solidarity Corps (ESC) volunteering project “Joyce Builders Circle” in preparation and support of a 15-day Natural Building Workshop.
Travel, food, accommodation & pocket money are all covered. (Infopack HERE )
Who ?
You can apply if you:
-
Are aged 18–30 and a resident of an ESC-eligible country
-
Want to live close to nature and contribute actively
-
Are excited to work with your hands and collaborate in a team
-
Don’t mind getting a bit muddy and sweaty
No previous building experience is needed — we’ll learn together!
Where?
In Skiathos, Greece, at the Joy’ce Kingdom
When ?
1st of September to 31st of October 2025, with travel days included
Accomodation ?
You will be staying at the Joy’ce Kingdom, our Eco-Centered Learning Hub on the island of Skiathos, in a remote and wild corner of Greece — completely off-grid and powered by the sun.
Accommodation will be simple and nature-connected. You will sleep in your own tent. Outdoor compost toilets and solar-powered showers will support a low-impact lifestyle throughout the volunteering.
We invite you to embrace the experience of eco-living — it’s part of the learning too!
How to arrive ?
Here are some options for getting to Skiathos:
-
Direct Flight from Athens: The easiest way is to check which days there are flights from Athens to Skiathos and plan your arrival in Athens accordingly. While it might be slightly more expensive than taking the bus and boat, it’s definitely more convenient.
-
Bus and Boat from Athens: The second easiest way is to take a bus from Athens to Mantoudi and catch a boat to Skiathos. When booking your bus ticket, remember that the port is called Kymasi—don’t head to the village of Mantoudi! Alternatively, boats also depart from Agios Konstantinos and Volos. You can check the schedules for all these routes on Openseas.
-
Charter Flights: During the summer, there are charter flights directly to Skiathos or Volos from England, Italy, France, Germany and more. It’s worth checking these options as well!
