Dear friends,
We’re beyond happy to announce that our Youth Workers Training “Re-joyce in Resilience – Natural Building & Community-Led Design” has been officially approved for Erasmus+ funding and it’s happening right here in our home on Skiathos!
This training is for you if you want to:
dive deep into eco-construction, natural materials, and resilient community-led design,
learn through hands-on workshops and build meaningful connections with fellow changemakers from across Europe,
live and co-create in an off-grid, nature-connected learning hub,
explore ways to engage young people in sustainability and regenerative practices,
come home inspired, recharged, and full of new tools, skills, and stories to share.
We can’t wait to welcome you here!
Applications are open !
What ?
15 days Training ( co-financed by Erasmus+ ) “Re-joyce in Resilience – Natural Building & Community-Led Design” (Infopack HERE)
Who ?
For Youth Workers of any age living in France, Spain, Greece, Italy, Belgium or Bulgaria
Where?
In Skiathos, Greece, at the Joy’ce Kingdom
When ?
4-20 October 2025, with travel days included
Accomodation ?
You will be staying at the Joy’ce Kingdom, our Eco-Centered Learning Hub on the island of Skiathos, in a remote and wild corner of Greece — completely off-grid and powered by the sun.
Accommodation will be simple and nature-connected. You will sleep in your own tent or, if you prefer, share a tent, caravan or van with someone of the same gender. Outdoor compost toilets and solar-powered showers will support a low-impact lifestyle throughout the training.
We invite you to embrace the experience of eco-living — it’s part of the learning too!
How to arrive ?
Here are some options for getting to Skiathos:
-
Direct Flight from Athens: The easiest way is to check which days there are flights from Athens to Skiathos and plan your arrival in Athens accordingly. While it might be slightly more expensive than taking the bus and boat, it’s definitely more convenient.
-
Bus and Boat from Athens: The second easiest way is to take a bus from Athens to Mantoudi and catch a boat to Skiathos. When booking your bus ticket, remember that the port is called Kymasi—don’t head to the village of Mantoudi! Alternatively, boats also depart from Agios Konstantinos and Volos. You can check the schedules for all these routes on Openseas.
-
Charter Flights: During the summer, there are charter flights directly to Skiathos or Volos from England, Italy, France, Germany and more. It’s worth checking these options as well!
What will happen ?
MAIN GOALS
Explore Natural Building: Learn about ecological construction through hands-on activities with local experts using stone, earth, wood, lime, and natural insulation.
Practice Community-Led Design: Participate in co-creation processes that value local wisdom, collective intelligence, and sustainable thinking.
Build Resilience: Reflect on how eco-construction and regenerative practices can offer solutions in times of crisis and climate disruption.
Connect with the Land & Each Other: Live, cook, learn, and celebrate together — building both physical structures and strong human bonds.
Experience Off-Grid Living: Slow down, reconnect with rhythms of nature, and reflect on the role of youth work in building regenerative communities.
